Introducing: Filmstar!
After months of promises and hints in the pages of Death Ray we're now ready to announce the launch of Blackfish's eagerly awaited second magazine, and it's an exciting one. Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for… Filmstar.
First off, here's what it might look like. (This isn't a real cover, just a dummy, but it should give you some idea what you're looking for.)
Secondly, some details. It's the same paper as Death Ray, and the same size: 180 pages. But Filmstar will cost £3.99 and be out every month: that's 12 issues a year, plus we're planning some sort of annual around Christmas.
What else? Well, it's another magazine designed to demonstrate the core 'We Go Deeper' philosophy of Blackfish. It will cover every sort of film, from the big Hollywood 'tentpole' blockbusters to the intriguing Mexican arthouse pictures, but in more depth than the existing titles: our interviews will be longer, our review sections more extensive, our range of interest wider. if you're a fan of Death Ray, chances are you'll like Filmstar, because it's a movie magazine in the same style.
We'll have more news on Filmstar right here over the next weeks and months. We'll introduce you to the team behind it, let you know what you can expect to find in the first issue, and give you more news on the thinking behind the project. But for now, here are some more visuals.
Oh yes, and a release date: 28 May.
Not too long to go now!
